Terms of Use

Last updated 17 August 2026

The agreement between you and Looci. Using the service means you accept it.

Looci is in free beta, run by an individual rather than a company. That shapes most of what follows: there are no uptime guarantees, features move, and you should keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

1. Who you are agreeing with

Looci is operated by Luka Spalević, an individual based in Montenegro ("Looci", "we", "us"). Contact: loociinfo@gmail.com.

You must be 16 or older to use Looci.

2. What Looci does

Looci saves links you send it, extracts content from those links — images, video frames, audio, text — and lets you organise, annotate and search the result.

3. Your account

4. Your content, and third-party content

This is the section that matters most, so it is written plainly.

You keep ownership of everything you save, write and upload. You grant Looci only the permission it technically needs to run the service for you: to store your content, to process and extract from it, and to display it back to you. That permission is limited to operating Looci, it is not exclusive, and it ends when you delete the content or close your account. We do not use your content to advertise, and we do not publish it.

Most of what you save will belong to someone else. Looci is a tool for keeping your own reference library, in the same way a browser bookmark or a saved screenshot is. You are responsible for making sure your use of a saved item is lawful where you are — including copyright, database rights, and the terms of the platform it came from. In particular:

5. Copyright complaints and takedown

If you own rights in material held in Looci and believe it is there unlawfully, email loociinfo@gmail.com with: what the material is, where in the service it sits, proof of your rights, and your contact details. Valid complaints are acted on promptly, and repeat infringers lose their accounts.

6. What you must not do

7. Beta: no promises about availability

Looci is provided as is. It may be unavailable, lose data, change, or stop entirely. Features can be added or withdrawn without notice. There is no service level agreement and no guarantee of backups.

Keep your own copies of anything important. This is stated here because it is true, not to be clever about it.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Looci is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any content will be preserved.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Looci and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or connected with your use of the service — whether based in contract, tort, negligence or any other theory, and even if advised that such damages were possible.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero) or €50.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

10. Payment

Looci is free during beta. If paid plans arrive, prices, billing and refunds will be set out before you are asked to pay, and no existing user will be charged without agreeing first.

11. Ending it

You may stop using Looci and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. If we shut the service down, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data where we can.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. The date at the top will change with them, and material changes will be emailed to account holders. Continuing to use Looci after that means you accept the new version.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Montenegro, and disputes fall to the courts of Montenegro. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country.

14. Privacy

How your data is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
